Oops, They Did It Again: China-Made 'Go USA' Mittens Available From U.S. Olympic Panel

With the controversy over Made in China U.S. Olympics uniforms not even two years old, the nation's leading sports authority is at it again. This time it's with mittens they're selling to drum up funds to help support winter athletes heading off to Sochi in February.

For a mere $14 a pair, you can procure China-made mittens emblazoned with “Go USA” from the U.S. Olympic Committee, according to a recent Associated Press story. Talk about short-term memory.

But USOC spokesman Patrick Sandusky assures us that the official handwarmers to be worn by the U.S. Winter Olympics team during the opening ceremonies are made proudly in the USA. You can purchase them for $98 a pair through Ralph Lauren.

"We wanted to create a fundraising opportunity where almost anyone could support Team USA," Sandusky explained to AP.

Blah, blah, blah.
